Cancer Stem Cells Regulated By MicroRNA
Cancer Stem Cells Regulated By MicroRNA
One of the biggest stories in cancer research over the past few years has been, unexpectedly, stem cells. Not embryonic stem cells, but tumor stem cells. These mutated cells, which live indefinitely and can seed new tumors, are now suspected of causing many, if not all, cancers. What is worse, these persistent cells are not killed by chemotherapy or other current treatments. Their survival might explain why tumors frequently recur or spread after treatment. Researchers Discover Two Proteins That Regulate Potassium In Stem CellsResearchers at Texas Tech University and the University of Wisconsin have discovered two proteins that control potassium regulation in stem cells found in the embryonic brain of rats. Understanding this potassium regulation and how these proteins work can help researchers develop better detection and treatment methods for diseases of nervous system and the heart, said Dean O. Bone Marrow Cell Transplants Help Nerve Regeneration
Bone Marrow Cell Transplants Help Nerve Regeneration
A study carried out by researchers at the Kyoto University School of Medicine and published in the current issue of CELL TRANSPLANTATION (Vol.16 No. 8) has shown that when transplanted bone marrow cells (BMCs) containing adult stem cells are protected by a 15mm silicon tube and nourished with bio-engineered materials, they successfully help regenerate damaged nerves. The research may provide an important step in developing artificial nerves. [click link for full article]

Hopefully at least one of these treatments sounds attractive

Hopefully at least one of these treatments sounds attractive. If you use all of them and none of them work, then you could be dealing with something much more ominous than just simply acne. But the chances are that by using these, you will be able to completely rid yourself of the curse of acne, and become much more clean and pleasant looking. Just progress with caution and choose your treatment wisely. Treatments only work if you can stick with them, so choose something that fits the level of commitment that you are willing to make towards getting rid of your acne.
